Recently, the Technical Committee on Data Governance and Development of the China Computer Federation (CCF) announced the recipients of its 2025 Doctoral Dissertation Incentive Program. The doctoral dissertation of Jiahui Hu, a young faculty member at the School of Artificial Intelligence, was successfully selected.

The CCF Doctoral Dissertation Incentive Program aims to advance science and technology in China’s computing field, encourage innovative research, motivate doctoral students to pursue rigorous academic inquiry, and recognize outstanding young scholars who have achieved significant theoretical and practical contributions to computing. The 2025 program considered doctoral dissertations in computer science and technology and related disciplines that were completed in China between February 2023 and July 2025.
Jiahui Hu has long focused on research in IoT data security and privacy-preserving computing. During her doctoral studies at Zhejiang University, she proposed an innovative theoretical framework for risk-aware collaborative data security and computing, effectively addressing the critical challenge of balancing privacy protection and data utility in data-driven computation. She has published 18 papers in prestigious CCF Class A conferences and journals, including USENIX Security, INFOCOM, ICML, and CVPR. Her work has received more than 1,300 citations on Google Scholar. She has also received several major academic honors, including recognition as one of the Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in the Internet of Things by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the Best Student Paper Award at BigCom 2023. Her research has attracted widespread attention and recognition from scholars in China and abroad.
Her selection demonstrates not only her strong academic foundation and considerable potential in AI data security and governance, but also the School’s achievements in developing interdisciplinary and emerging research areas such as artificial intelligence and data governance. The School will continue to support young faculty members in conducting high-level innovative research and encourage its faculty and students to explore cutting-edge fields, thereby providing strong talent and technological support for the high-quality development of the digital economy and the fulfillment of regional strategic needs.
