Aiping Yao is a Distinguished Professor at Nanchang University and a Provincial High-Level Talent of Jiangxi Province. She is the recipient of the Katja Pokovic Fellowship Award from the Swiss Foundation for Social Sciences and Information Research, and holds multiple professional positions including Technical Expert of the ISO/TS 10974 Standard Committee, External Expert of the Center for Medical Device Evaluation at China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), and Member of the Standardization Technical Committee for Reliability and Maintainability of Medical Devices. She also serves as a committee member of the Arrhythmia Branch of the China Medical Equipment Association and the Bioelectromagnetics Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering. She received her Ph.D. from ETH Zurich (ranked 8th globally in 2024) under the supervision of Prof. Niels Kuster, a Member of the Swiss Academy of Sciences. Her main research interests cover bioelectromagnetics and computational electromagnetics, including neurostimulation, neuromodulation, safety assessment of implantable medical devices in MRI, and the application of artificial intelligence algorithms in neural regulation. Her research has not only been published in top international journals but also successfully translated into commercial products by Zurich Medtech AG, Switzerland, and is widely adopted by medical device manufacturers and regulatory authorities around the world.
